Two minutes

What finding work costs you.

Every figure here is one you set. Nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing is claimed about anybody else's results. Move the six sliders until they describe your practice, and read what falls out at the bottom.

What a client is worth to you

What you invoice for a typical mandate, from start to finish.

After subcontractors and anything you buy in. Not after your own time.

The time it takes you

Writing, posting, messaging, following up, thinking about it on a Sunday.

Divided by eight to price an hour. That is the only assumption on this page.

What it currently produces

A live call with somebody who could actually hire you. Not a like, not a coffee, not a polite reply.

Your own closing rate, on conversations that were the right ones.

The short answer

Three numbers, and the third is the one that matters.

Finding work costs you
€56,250
a year, in your own billable time, at your own rate.
Conversations a year
16
at the rate the last ninety days produced.
One conversation is worth
€2,800
in gross margin, before you have said a word.

The arithmetic, over twelve months

Where the year goes.

Hours on finding work300 h
What those hours are worth at your rate€56,250
Conversations with a real buyer16
Mandates they produce3.2
Gross margin those mandates bring€44,800
What one hour of finding work returns€149

The other direction

What one more conversation a month is worth.

One more a month
€33,600
of extra gross margin over twelve months.
Two more a month
€67,200
and your year stops depending on who remembers you.
The hours it would cost you
300 h
if you keep finding them the way you find them now.

If you want it in writing

I will send you your own numbers.

Your six figures and everything above, in one email you can keep. I read every one that comes in, and if a number looks wrong to me I will tell you which one and why.

Your address is used to send you this and the pieces I write. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and I pass it on to nobody.

Where these numbers come from

What this page does not do.

It does not know your market, and it does not pretend that one more conversation arrives for free. It takes six figures you gave it and does arithmetic you could do on paper, which is the point: the numbers are yours, so the conclusion is yours too.

An hour is priced at your day rate divided by eight. Conversations a year assume the last ninety days were a normal quarter. Everything else is multiplication.
